Welcome to Palmetta Plantation where quality hedgies are our #1 goal! We are a small husband/wife team who breed quality hedgehogs to share with others. Due to our small operation size we are not required to be USDA licensed and it is this small size that allows us to be able to give special attention to each individual pet like they deserve. We are hobby breeders and breed for personality and pets only.

We offer before and after sale help with information on your new hedgehog so that both you and your new hedgie are comfortable and happy with one another!
A reserve fee of $50 by USPS postal money order (the only kind we accept) is required to reserve a baby (and comes off the total amount for the baby) and the balance is due in cash upon pick-up. We also accept all four major credit cards. Babies, male and female, are $150-$175 for basic colors and platinum variants. If you need more information or have specific questions please contact me.
Due to a hedgehog not developing its true color until it is approximately five months old, (after the hedgie loses its baby quills and new quills grow back in), we can't guarantee the color of any of our hedgehog babies. We will, however, try to match you with the color you are looking for but cannot guarantee the color or the gender you are looking for.
All babies include a care sheet, possible other hedgie info, verbal instructions, our phone number and email address should you have any problems or questions once you get your baby home. Complete container set-ups are available if we are notified in advance of pick-up. We will not release a hedgie to anyone without making sure they are educated in the proper care and maintenance of hedgehogs! If you expect us to take your money, give you our baby, and then run that is not how adopting from us works. We require that all prospective adoptive parents completely and honestly fill out a questionnaire so we can get to know you and learn the extent of what you know regarding the care of hedgehogs. By doing this, it helps to relieve our minds that our babies are going to good homes and it helps to give us an idea where we may be able to help educate you in a hedgehog's care. Hedgies are very appropriate if you have children in your home as long as your children are gentle and are included in the care and maintenance of your new pet.
Also, do your homework by making sure hedgehogs are legal in your state. We will not knowingly sell to anyone who lives in a state where it's illegal to own a hedgehog. Georgia, Maine, California, Arizona, Hawaii and Pennsylvania it is illegal to have them or if you can have them there are certain states that require you have paperwork.
